MacPherson Milk Powder Programme

We launched a milk powder programme for underprivileged families in MacPherson in 2013.

The programme was conceived after we observed how many families struggled to afford milk powder for their children. NTUC vouchers that we offered them would be "wiped out" from buying two tins of milk powder, leaving these underprivileged families with little left to afford daily essentials.

Children from 6 months to 4 years old receive 2.7kg of milk powder every quarter.

Why not ask underprivileged families to breastfeed then?

The reality is that breastfeeding can be challenging to some mothers, and milk powder is needed to supplement children's nutritional needs. Therefore a targeted programme is essential to help those in need.

Through the generous support of private benefactors, we have managed to sustain this programme for the families that need a helping hand.
